Practice Focus

  • In the past 35 years I have participated in approximately 1,000 appeals with just short of 100 published decisions, including 24 of my own cases argued before the California Supreme Court and many others as amicus curiae, and one case argued before the United States Supreme Court. After five years of trial work in the Los Angeles County Public Defender's Office, since 1971 my practice has focused exclusively on appellate litigation and consultation, primarily in criminal cases, but also as to judicial disciplinary proceedings, family and tort law, and contempt and procedural issues.
