Dan has been practicing appellate law for more than three decades. Since 2005, his practice has focused on patent appeals and other disputes involving complex technology or complicated statutory schemes. Dan chairs Perkins Coie’s Federal Circuit Patent Appeals practice, and he has handled well over 100 appeals in that court. In addition, Dan regularly counsels clients and trial lawyers on crucial legal issues in high-stakes matters. Clients often enlist him for strategic advice, amicus briefs, and other special projects.
