Charles R. Watson Jr.

Charles R. “Skip” Watson is a partner in the appellate section of the Austin office of Greenberg Traurig LLP and is an Academy Fellow. He is former chair of the State Bar of Texas Appellate Section and chaired the committee that drafted the Standards for Appellate Conduct adopted by the Supreme Court of Texas. He serves on the Texas Supreme Court Rules Advisory Committee and has served on the State Bar Pattern Jury Charge Committee for Business, Consumer, and Employment Law. He has also served as a trustee of the Texas Center for Legal Ethics and chaired his local State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee. His papers on how to win complex appeals and preserving and appealing jury charge have made Mr. Watson a frequent CLE speaker. He has chaired Advanced Courses on Civil Appellate Practice and Civil Trials for the State Bar of Texas.
